 GENERAL INFORMATION FOR JUNIOR PLAYERS

The Leopold Cricket Club provides junior teams in the U/11, U/13, U/15 and U/17 age groups. The age groups are determined by the age of your child as at September 1st.

U/11’s play on a Friday night at various grounds around the Geelong area from 5pm till 7pm. Training is usually one night per week and the night will be determined by the availability of the coach.

U/13, U/15 and U/17 play on a Saturday morning from 8.30am till 11.40am at various grounds around the Geelong and Bellarine area. Training is usually one night per week on a night determined by the availability of the coach. The exception to this is for the U/17 age group and they will train on a Tuesday and Thursday which allows them to stay on for senior training if they choose to do so.

U/13, U/15 and U/17’s are expected to provide morning tea for each home game.

Membership fees for juniors are $90 per player. This fee is discounted for families registering siblings; $180 for 2 children and $250 for 3 children. All fees cover the costs of insurance and balls. Please note: For the 2018/19 season, the membership fee also includes a FREE training shirt for each player who registers.

Players are required to wear the club uniform for games which consists of club playing shirt and cap. It costs $45 to purchase these items together. Individually, playing shirts are $30 and caps are $15. White cricket trousers are to be worn and can be purchased from your own chosen supplier. Leopold Cricket Club also has a range of training shirts and shorts available to purchase for $25 each.

Other equipment which players need are a cricket bat, batting pads and gloves, helmet and cricket protector (box).

All junior players, coaches, parents and spectators are covered by a code of conduct. The codes of conduct can be found on the website and each family needs to be familiar with these. (See under "Junior" tab on website.)

The predominant form of communication used to keep junior players and families up to date is via "Team App".
